Information that travels with materials

Distinguish a useful evidence record from a legal product passport.

RESEARCH BRIEF · 9 NOVEMBER 2026

The evidence

The European Commission explains that Digital Product Passports are introduced progressively, with requirements determined for particular products. Inclusion in a working plan does not itself create a universal passport obligation.

What it means for a brief

A useful preparation record can identify the material, product, evidence source and responsible person. It should also preserve the date, method and limits behind each claim.

A practical next step

Our Evidence Brief is an educational checklist. It is not a registered passport, legal compliance review or certification. Confirm applicable product rules and dates using official sources and appropriate expertise.
